Why Sauna?

You clearly have not had a sauna for a while… it’s great for your body and mind and you will be feeling extremely relaxed after your sauna session!

What do I need to bring?

Simply bring your bathers or boardies and we recommend two towels (one for in the sauna, one for drying afterwards).

Where can I get changed?

We have a basic changing and rinse-off area and storage facilities.

Do you have towel hire?

Yes, we have a limited number of towels available for $10 per session.

How many people can fit in the sauna?

6 person sauna (or up to 8 for groups with smaller frames).

What can I expect from start to finish?

A session lasts for 60 minutes and typically we suggest doing 3 cycles of approximately 15 minutes, allowing the body to cool down between each cycle.

How do you heat the sauna?

The sauna is heated with a powerful 9kW Harvia Heater and Olivine Stones to deliver authentic Finnish heat.

Can I bring alcohol to the sauna?

No, please save the drinks for afterwards.

Will I see any dolphins from the sauna?

Quite possibly!

What about sauna etiquette?

We are fans of Finnish sauna culture, where saunas are a shared experience. It might be quiet conversation or comfortable silence.

Can I film my sauna experience?

Only if you have booked a private session or have the explicit consent of those you are sharing the experience with.

Can I bring water into the sauna with me?

We suggest drinking water at the end of each cycle rather than taking water bottles into the sauna.

Should I come early?

Yes if you’d like a walk on the beach beforehand.

How much water do I need to drink?

Listen to your body and do not arrive dehydrated.

Can I go naked?

Yes, but only if you have booked a private session.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

Please click on the tab at the bottom of the email you received after making the booking.

Where are the nearest public toilets?

There are public toilets in Dunalley and Murdunna.

What happens if the weather is bad?

You’re in luck… this is when sauna experiences become even more special.

What if your friends are having a sauna but you're not interested?

Head to Bangor or Dunalley for a coffee or wander along the beach and enjoy the shore birds, or spot some finches and wrens in the sand dunes. It's a beautiful place to relax.
